How our process works.

Our consultation process is designed to be simple, transparent, and convenient. No hassle, no surprises—just straightforward guidance tailored to your unique situation.

STEP 1

Setup a consultation and schedule a time.

Click on any Book a Consultation link and select an appointment time. Consultations are $250. You can choose to have the consultation by telephone or Google Meet. Tell us a little bit about yourself and the legal issue you'd like to discuss.

STEP 2

Receive confirmation and submit relevant documentation.

You’ll receive an email confirmation. You will then have the opportunity to submit relevant documents via email for preliminary review prior to the time of your consultation.

Step 3

Get sound legal advice from an experienced lawyer.

During your consultation, Shea will assess and address legal issues, providing immediate assistance for urgent concerns. Many matters can be resolved during the consultation.

Step 4

Discuss further services if needed.

Sometimes, additional services, such as preparation of documents like a lease or contract, will be needed after the initial consultation. Shea will email details about additional services, fees, and payment instructions as needed. If your situation requires court filings or appearances or is otherwise beyond the scope of Shea’s practice, he will help connect you with appropriate counsel.

I think I need to talk to an attorney, but I don’t know what kind. What should I do?

Sometimes it is hard to determine exactly who you need to talk to. Shea can help. Little details can make a big difference. For example, a lot of attorneys say they do “elder law,” but does that mean that they do estate planning, probates, guardianships, or Medicare planning? Some will do all of these. Others only focus on one or two areas. The same is true of business law and court cases. With his years of experience, Shea can help you to better understand your legal issues and direct you to the right attorney to help with your specific needs.

Why pay to talk to Shea when I might be able to get a free consultation somewhere?

Free consultations generally are a lure to get you in the door so the attorney can evaluate your case. Most attorneys are not seeking to address your needs during the consultation, only to see if you might be a good—i.e. profitable—client for the firm in the future. When you get a free consultation, you are a “potential client.” The attorney is vetting you to see if they will represent you. When you consult with Shea, you are a client. So, consultations with Shea are different. Shea is not sizing you up to see if you might be a good client, Shea is trying to help you with your problem during the consultation.

I don’t know if I have a legal problem. What should I do?

If you suspect that you may have a legal problem, consult with Shea. It is best to find out whether you do or don’t have a legal problem sooner than later. If you don’t have a legal problem, you can breathe easy. If you do have a legal problem—or a situation that may become a problem—it is best to know so that you can plan your course of action to minimize risk and maximize peace of mind.
